Wildlife

There’s a rich diversity of wildlife in and around Llandinam. The local Species Habitat Protection Group work to protect the nesting sites of Barn Owls in Powys. 

They have recently been awarded £9,200 from the Heritage Lottery Fund for their Vision On Project. See more details including videos at their new website or follow them on their Facebook page.

The Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust have a Nature Reserve at the Llandinam Gravels on the banks of the River Severn.

Among the species that can be seen there are Otter, Common Frog, Common Sandpiper, Dipper, Goosander, Little Ringed Plover, Oystercatcher, Sand Martin, Large Red Damselfly.

It also has important plant and insect life.
